journalism.jpgThis year’s coach of the year was Brady Sallee, head coach of the women’s basketball team. Sallee led the team to the Ohio Valley Conference tournament, and the team finished just one win away from the NCAA Tournament. journalism.jpgThis year’s female athlete of the year was dual-sport athlete Rachel Galligan. Galligan was Eastern women’s basketball leading scorer this past season and led the Panthers to within one win of the NCAA Tournament. She constantly faced double and triple-teams, yet still managed to earn her second straight first-team All-Ohio Valley Conference honor.

Galeski.jpgThis year’s male athlete of the year was soccer player Mick Galeski. Galeski lead the league this past season with 12 assists and had a total of 28 points for the Panthers; Galeski also scored eight goals.

Spring Game 2008

On Saturday, Eastern’s football squad played its spring game in preparation for the 2008 season. Eastern’s offense pulled away in the second half and went on to beat the defensive side 45-29 thanks in part to Chevon Walker, a red-shirt freshman transfer from Florida.
